The timeoutmind60 and timeoutmind90 are bite size courses covering not just the mind but also our body Chance to reset your compass Depending on how much time you can free-up, each 60 or 90 minute session has a topic and current theme blended with tips for meditation(s). Ideal for those wanting to explore the benefits of a formal practice or just curious about experiencing the benefits of managing stress through mindfulness. Life can sometimes get in the way but with these effective tools where you can set your own realistic timeframes it is easy to get back on the trail.
Research* has shown that after just 8 weeks of mindfulness training significant neurological changes can be created in regions of the brain associated with attention, memory, stress and empathy. Two of these regions include the pre-frontal cortex, which allows us to control and shift our attention, and the insula, which makes us more focussed, able to take deal with life’s knocks in a more resilient way and increased empathy. Being mindful is the exact opposite of the “fight or flight” part of our brains, the part that activates when we feel under threat or in danger. This state of mind has advantages but unfortunately due to our fast-paced world, we have been conditioned to activate. However, when we are able to remain mindful, calm, non-reactive and feeling safe we can free up our mental space and use it more efficiently for learning, problem solving and creatively to improve our lives.
